Santa Barbara Grand Jury Gives SBCAG Failing Grade

Santa Barbara, CA-- According to a newly released Civil Grand Jury report, the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments is failing in its job to serve the community.

In the 14-page report, jurors concluded that more emphasis needs to be placed on regional planning matters.

The report also criticizes the association of governments for focusing much of its attention on transportation and refusing to accept a $250,000 state grant to help open up ideas about regional planning and problems.

Now, the Civil Grand Jury wants board members to consider some of its recommendations.

SBCAG Board Members include all five Santa Barbara County Supervisors and a mayor or council member from each of the county's eight cities.

KEY News Reporter Coleen Sullivan spoke with a board member to hear their side and how they plan to answer the grand jury's recommendations.
