The SLO Department of Planning and Building is being asked to make a special effort to advise applicants for special land use permits. The Grand Jury made the formal recommendation on Friday, saying that the department failed to give advice on the cumulative environmental effects of projects using special land permits for the past year and a half. The Planning Commission Rules of Procedure will be modified to allow more time for review. The Commission decided on the solution during a closed hearing.
