Portions of the 2010-2011 El Dorado County Grand Jury's report were released Tuesday, a week ahead of release of the full report.

The full report was slated to be released in tandem with Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, but that was delayed by technical problems with production of the report.

Lines were missing and some late changes were not included, so the report will be reprinted and bound for release next June 21.

Because some sections of the report were already entered into the Board packet, they became public Tuesday.

Those sections covered:

• potential waste and abuse in the county's prescription drug care plan.

• mental heath safety policies in the wake of the 2010 shooting of a mental health patient who stole an ambulance.

• potential public/private cooperation, including volunteer review of county operations.

• possible improper use of the Board of Supervisors' consent calendar.

• improvements to customer service in the Development Services Department.

• analysis of the Sheriff's Office operations budget.

Baker said it would be inappropriate to comment on the content of the sections released until the full report is public.

However, he said the remaining portions of the Grand Jury report would be of greater interest than what was in the board packet today.

What will be released June 21 will be the "most controversial and most consequential" sections, Baker said.
