BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - State and local officials honored the Kern County Grand Jury Thursday morning. This week is grand jury awareness week.
The jury, supervisors, county officials along with State Senator Jean Fuller and Assemblyman Rudy Salas, all gathered in front of the Liberty Bell in downtown Bakersfield. "We monitor all county services, administrations, policies, we make sure all the rules are followed and that all tax dollars are spent effectively," said Dwayne Ardis, grand jury foreman.
A plaque was presented by the Kern County Grand Jury Association to the sitting grand jury, honoring the past foreperson who passed away during his tenure last year.
