[Kern County] Grand Jury Awareness Week

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - State and local officials honored the Kern County Grand Jury Thursday morning in Bakersfield.
This week is Grand Jury Awareness week.
The jury, supervisors and other officials all gathered in front of the Liberty Bell to celebrate the Grand Jury's work.
Grand Jury members play a watch dog role - providing civilian oversight on local government spending and other concerns.
Anyone interested to be on the next Grand Jury can apply, as long as you're at least 18 years old and have lived in the County for at least one year.
Grand Jurors serve for a year beginning July 2019.
