[Sonoma County] Letter to the editor: grand jury reports

EDITOR: While I appreciate the work of the citizens on the Sonoma County grand jury, I’m curious if anyone in the county is following up on the recommendations. For example:
— Regarding the review of emergency alert system weakness, why not use sirens?
— The Department of Health Services’ projected revenue continually failed to materialize in the budget.
— In case of earthquake, our water supply depends on scarce resources and lacks adequate documentation for operations.
— At the jail, a lack of tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, syphilis and measles vaccinations is a missed opportunity.
— Responsibilities aren’t always well identified or coordinated between departments leading to duplication and error-prone transfers of data.
— The wildfire report indicates weaknesses in emergency preparedness and high probability of repeat problems.
Is anyone following up to see if any action I taken? If not, why bother?
