Contra Costa County resident receives prestigious statewide grand jury service award

Sacramento, November 3, 2019. Lloyd Bell, Brentwood, has been awarded the prestigious statewide Angelo Rolando Service Award by the California Grand Jurors' Association (CGJA). This award is made annually for outstanding service to the association locally and statewide. It was given at CGJA’s annual conference in Sacramento on November 3.
Bell served on the Contra Costa County Grand Jury for two terms: 2010-11 and 2010-12 (the latter as foreperson). He then joined CGJA’s Contra Costa chapter, becoming its president. He has served on CGJA’s Board of Directors since 2014 and has been vice president. Bell has chaired the Finance Committee and currently chairs the Annual Conference Committee.
The California Grand Jurors’ Association is a statewide nonprofit organization of former grand jurors with the mission “to promote, preserve and support the grand jury system through training, education and outreach.” Angelo Rolando was a major player in creating the association in 1982.
