Humboldt County civil grand jury seeks public input

The 2016-2017 Humboldt County civil grand jury is inviting the public to participate in the yearlong process of examining the operations of county, city, and district operations as well as law enforcement, social services, and much more, according to a press release.
Unlike criminal grand juries, the civil grand jury focuses on governmental operations, fiscal responsibility, services to the public, and generally attempts to help promote more efficient government for the residents and taxpayers of Humboldt County, the release said.
The civil grand jury invites comments or complaints regarding a host of governmental activities within this County. Although there is no guarantee a complaint will result in an investigation, it is a tool by which the grand jury evaluates issues for further study, the release said.
Anyone wishing to lodge a complaint for the grand jury to pursue, may pick up a form at the civil grand jury office on the first floor of the county courthouse or go to the website at http://www.humboldtgov.org/DocumentCenter/View/54457.
