[San Diego County] Questionable Action from School Leaders

Kudos to the Union-Tribune for the articles on the county grand jury’s report regarding Marne Foster and Cindy Marten (“Report: School board controls needed,” May 25; “Trustee, superintendent have explaining to do,” May 28).
I agree that they do have much to explain.
The role of the school board is to provide the policies and financial oversight for SDUSD.
I cannot believe that Ms. Foster was able to obtain a new Common Application School Report for her son. Do other parents also receive this privilege or is it only given to school board parents?
According to the grand jury report, the principal and two officials were removed from the school.
Marne Foster should resign her position on the school board. Cindy Marten should face some disciplinary action as well. Ms. Foster has lost all credibility as a governing school board member.
This is very petty behavior and integrity is certainly lacking. I am anxious to see how SDUSD responds to the grand jury report.
